Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia’s growing industrial activity is driving increasing demand for energy and digital infrastructure. This trend is accelerating the development of power generation capacity, renewable energy, energy storage systems, and more efficient and reliable data center infrastructure.

Under Indonesia’s 2025–2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), the country is targeting an additional 69.5 gigawatts (GW) of power generation capacity. Of this total, 42.6 GW is expected to come from renewable energy sources, while 10.3 GW is allocated for energy storage systems.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s data center capacity reached approximately 370 megawatts (MW) in 2025.

These developments provide an important backdrop for the Indonesia Energy & Engineering (IEE) Series – Energy Week 2026, taking place from September 2–5, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The event brings together three strategic sectors through Electric & Power Indonesia, The Battery Show Indonesia, and Data Center Asia–Indonesia.

Under the theme “Sustainability for Industrial Transformation,” the organizers position sustainability not merely as an environmental concern, but as an integral part of industrial strategy to improve efficiency, drive innovation, and strengthen business resilience.

The 2026 edition of IEE Series – Energy Week spans more than 20,000 square meters of exhibition space and features 451 companies from 28 countries.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the event offers 21 seminar sessions featuring 73 thought leaders, with support from 12 industry associations.

Maxmilaan Bruinier, Deputy Event Director of Pamerindo Indonesia, said the Jakarta edition builds on the positive momentum of Indonesia Energy Week Surabaya 2026, which previously brought together more than 200 exhibitors from 17 countries.

“The Surabaya edition demonstrated the strong demand for a platform that connects stakeholders and creates opportunities for cross-sector collaboration,” Maxmilaan said in a statement on Wednesday (September 2, 2026).

He added that the Jakarta edition further expands industry connectivity by bringing the power, energy storage, and digital infrastructure sectors together within a single ecosystem.

“We hope this gathering will encourage knowledge exchange and provide solutions that help industries improve efficiency, strengthen capabilities, and create greater long-term value,” he said.

Connecting Energy and Digital Infrastructure

The three exhibitions held as part of Energy Week showcase technologies from sectors that are becoming increasingly interconnected.

Electric & Power Indonesia presents technologies and solutions for the electricity sector, while The Battery Show Indonesia highlights developments in battery and energy storage technologies. Meanwhile, Data Center Asia–Indonesia focuses on infrastructure solutions supporting the country’s growing digital needs.

The convergence of these sectors reflects how digital industry growth increasingly depends on reliable, flexible energy systems capable of adapting to changing demand.

This connection was among the key topics discussed during the Indonesia Smart Grid Initiative (PJCI) Symposium, held alongside the opening of Electric & Power Indonesia.

PJCI Chairman Arsyadany G. Akmalaputri said future industrial electricity demand would not only increase in volume, but also become more diverse and dynamic.

“Industrial demand for electricity will continue to grow while becoming increasingly diverse and dynamic. Therefore, the power system must evolve toward a smarter and more flexible model capable of reliably integrating multiple energy sources,” she said.

According to Arsyadany, the development of smart grids, renewable energy integration, and technology-driven energy management will become increasingly important.

These measures can improve efficiency while strengthening the resilience of the electricity system needed to support industrial productivity.

She also emphasized that energy development is not solely about electricity generation and distribution, but is closely connected to economic growth and more balanced development.

As a result, the development of power infrastructure, energy storage technologies, and digital infrastructure requires collaboration among the government, businesses, technology providers, industry associations, academia, and end users.

Industry Players Leverage Energy Week

The growing connection between sectors is also reflected among industry players participating in IEE Series – Energy Week 2026.

RMA Indonesia, for example, is using the event to showcase power generation solutions for a range of industries, including building infrastructure, hospitality and resorts, as well as data centers.

RMA Indonesia Development and Technical Support Manager Rio Harison Saragih said participating in Energy Week provides the company with an opportunity to reach more targeted market segments.

“The visitor profile is very clear, with strong interest specifically in energy. On the first day, we have seen visitors focused on energy, generators, cables and wires, among other areas, making it easier for us to identify potential customers,” Rio said.

He added that participating in Energy Week allows RMA Indonesia to reach beyond its existing customer base and explore new opportunities within the energy sector.

“Bringing multiple sectors together within a single exhibition series like IEE Series is beneficial for expanding our market reach and strengthening industry collaboration,” he said.

In addition to Electric & Power Indonesia, this year’s Energy Week also features the 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx.

The two events are designed to connect government representatives, industry players, technology providers, and academics in advancing the development of electricity systems powered by new and renewable energy.

The platform is also expected to bridge market needs with relevant technological innovations and solutions while creating new partnership opportunities to support Indonesia’s national energy transition agenda.
