Jakarta, INTI - Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas (PPN/Bappenas) Rachmat Pambudy and President of Airbus Asia-Pacific Anand Stanley signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) as a commitment to strengthening the national aerospace industry at the Bappenas Building in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 6.
This agreement aligns with the Indonesian Aerospace Industry Ecosystem Development Roadmap for 2022-2045. Both parties will explore collaboration opportunities, including strengthening domestic industrial capacity and developing the maintenance, repair, and overhaul sector for various Airbus product lines.
"The Ministry of PPN/Bappenas has developed an Aerospace Industry Roadmap. Therefore, we are committed to continuously overseeing the sustainable development of the aerospace industry ecosystem and hope that Airbus will become an equal business partner through the sharing of knowledge and experience," said Rachmat Pambudy.
The Aim is to Improve Indonesia's Aerospace Industry
This partnership is expected to improve inter-island connectivity through the development of airport infrastructure and flight services in Indonesia. By 2045, air traffic growth is projected to quadruple in efficiency and sustainability.
"Airbus is committed to expanding its global operations in regions where our products and services can make a tangible contribution to the national development agenda," said Anand Stanley. Anand also said that Airbus views Indonesia as a strategic partner and hopes to bring mutual long-term benefits.
This collaboration will be followed up with efforts to accelerate the development of human resource capabilities, the utilization of technology, and the enhancement of standardization in line with the needs and dynamics of the Indonesian aerospace industry.
