Jakarta, INTI - The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politeknik Negeri Malang (Polinema) received an academic visit from the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA). This visit was conducted to strengthen institutional relations and explore opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and the development of renewable energy technology.
The Secretary of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Polinema, Muhammad Fakhruddin, expressed his hope that the meeting would be the beginning of a sustainable collaboration that would benefit both institutions.
"We hope this meeting can serve as a foundation for building closer cooperation between Polinema and UNISMA’s Faculty of Engineering in the fields of education, research, and community service," said Fakhruddin.
He stated that through this inter-institutional synergy, it is hoped that various applied innovations will emerge that can make a real contribution to technological development and improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia.
UNISMA’s Faculty of Engineering delegation, led by Efendi S. Wirateruna, expressed their appreciation for the welcome given by Polinema.
Efendi emphasized the importance of building synergy between institutions through various collaborative programs. This step is considered to support improving the quality of higher education, applied research, and community service activities.
Polinema's Solar PV Program
Participants received an in-depth presentation on Polinema's profile and the various innovations it has developed in the field of renewable energy. The material was delivered by Dr. Fengky Adie Perdana.
In his presentation, Fengky explained the implementation of Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV) systems in Polinema, the development of electrical systems by the Electrical Engineering Study Program, and various community service activities through the construction of Solar Power Plants (PLTS), one of which has been successfully implemented in Tumpang District, Malang Regency.
Participants also toured the PLTS Laboratory and several other supporting laboratories, showcasing the implementation of renewable energy technologies owned by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Electrical Engineering at Polinema.
The agenda then continued with a technical discussion regarding the implementation of the Solar PV system at Polinema. Various topics were discussed in depth, including an overview of operational solar power systems, key component characteristics, photovoltaic module configurations, inverters, and power distribution systems. Other discussions included mechanisms for monitoring energy production, operational data management, system performance evaluation, periodic operation and maintenance procedures, and the implementation of protection systems and electrical safety aspects.
Conclusion
Polinema received an academic visit from UNISMA to strengthen institutional relations and explore cooperation in the fields of education, research, community service, and the development of renewable energy technology. During the visit, Polinema presented various renewable energy innovations, including the implementation of Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV) systems on campus and the construction of PLTS for the community, one of which is in Tumpang District, Malang Regency.
