Pertamina Secures 14 Gold and 108 Green PROPER Ratings, Ministry Highlights Role of Environmental Innovation

Jakarta, INTI - PT Pertamina (Persero) secured 14 Gold and 108 Green PROPER awards at the 2026 PROPER Awards Ceremony organized by the Ministry of Environment, held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

This achievement positions Pertamina as the largest recipient of Gold PROPER awards nationwide, accounting for approximately 35 percent of the total 39 Gold awards presented. In the Green category, the company contributed around 44 percent of the total 243 awards.

In addition, Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri received the Green Leadership Award in recognition of his leadership in environmental management and sustainable business practices.

Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated that PROPER has evolved beyond a compliance mechanism into a driver of corporate transformation.

“PROPER is a transformation engine that encourages companies not only to comply, but to go beyond compliance through innovation and resource efficiency,” he said on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Driving Efficiency and Energy Transition 

Simon Aloysius Mantiri noted that the achievement reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to integrate energy efficiency and emission reduction into its business operations.

He highlighted that Pertamina has tripled its decarbonization efforts and doubled the utilization of renewable energy in recent years.

He added that the company’s strategy is aligned with supporting the national energy transition while maintaining energy security.

On the social front, Pertamina reported community empowerment programs generating economic value of up to IDR 500 billion annually, benefiting more than 140,000 people.

From an environmental perspective, the company has undertaken conservation efforts involving hundreds of flora and fauna species and planted approximately 9 million trees across various regions.

One of its flagship initiatives, the Energy Independent Village (Desa Energi Berdikari) program, integrates renewable energy utilization with local economic development. The program has been implemented in more than 250 villages across Indonesia.

Strengthening Sustainability Commitment 

The PROPER 2026 achievements reflect Pertamina’s role in advancing sustainability through energy efficiency, environmental innovation, and social responsibility programs.

The Ministry of Environment emphasized that the PROPER scheme has become a key instrument in encouraging companies to contribute more broadly to sustainable development in Indonesia.
