Jakarta, INTI – In an interview with INTI Media at the INTI Expo 2025, Director of Machinery and Agricultural Equipment Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Solehan SP, MM, highlighted the government’s strategic steps to enhance the competitiveness of national industries amid global dynamics. He noted that global trade tensions, such as those between the United States and China, present opportunities for Indonesia to expand its exports.
Solehan emphasized the importance of implementing the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) as a key strategy to protect national industries while attracting high-tech investments to accelerate technology adoption in the industrial sector.
Strengthening Industrial Human Resource Competence Through Training and Certification
The Ministry of Industry continues to prepare a competent and adaptive workforce for the digital era. Through technical guidance programs, skill training, and the 3-in-1 program (training, certification, and placement) managed by the Industrial Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDMI), the Ministry is committed to improving workforce competence based on the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI). This approach is expected to enhance the quality and competitiveness of national products in both domestic and global markets.
Industrialization and Downstreaming as Pillars of the National Economy
In the long term, the Ministry aims to achieve sustainable industrialization and downstreaming as the main pillars of national economic development. Solehan stressed that downstreaming, from both the mining and agroindustry sectors, is a strategic step to create high added value and accelerate domestic industrial growth. “We must ensure that there is no deindustrialization in Indonesia. Instead, industrialization is accelerating,” he affirmed. By focusing on processing raw materials into finished products, the Ministry seeks to strengthen national supply chains to be more independent and competitive amid the digital era and global competition.
