Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry is developing an integrated platform based on digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate the transformation of the national manufacturing sector and enhance global competitiveness.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6:12 p.m. WIB, as part of the government’s commitment to strengthening domestic industry.

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized that this initiative aims to enable national industries to adapt while becoming key players in an increasingly intelligent and connected global supply chain.

He stated, “Digitalization and the implementation of Industry 4.0 are key to building a smart, sustainable, and resilient manufacturing sector capable of competing globally, increasing productivity, accelerating innovation, and strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the international market.”

International Collaboration to Accelerate Industrial Digitalization

The platform is being developed through cross-border strategic collaboration involving the Ministry’s Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI), Irootech Technology Co. Ltd., and the Machinery Industry Education Development Center.

These parties have formed an alliance to build an international collaboration platform in industrial digitalization and AI.

Head of BPSDMI, Doddy Rahadi, noted that the rapid changes brought by the Industry 4.0 revolution require a workforce that is adaptive and highly skilled.

He added that this is driving the Ministry to continue expanding cross-country strategic partnerships, particularly in human resource development and workforce placement in Industry 4.0 sectors.

Indonesia–China Digital Talent Alliance Launched

During a working visit to China, the BPSDMI team visited vocational institutions and industrial companies, as well as attended international conferences on digitalization and AI.

At the event, an International Cooperation Alliance for the Development of Industrial Digitalization and AI Talent was officially launched, involving industry, education, and government sectors from both countries.

Head of the Industrial Vocational Education Development Center, Wulan Aprilianti Permatasari, explained that the alliance aims to build global collaboration, strengthen the integration between education and industry, and produce highly qualified professional talent.

Vice President of Irootech Technology Co. Ltd., Ye Fei, stated that the collaborative platform is designed to develop skilled talent in industrial digitalization, strengthen bilateral cooperation in vocational education, and promote mutual growth.

This collaboration is part of the implementation of a memorandum of understanding signed on September 16, 2025, covering workforce development, training, and job placement in industrial digitalization and artificial intelligence.
