9 months ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI – Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat), in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, has officially launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-based anti-spam and anti-scam feature designed to protect users from various digital fraud threats. The launch took place in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 7, Augustus, 2025.

Built on Indosat’s Sovereign AI Factory powered by the latest NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, this solution strengthens Indonesia’s capability to combat spam and scams in real time, enhancing the nation’s digital resilience and fostering public trust in the digital ecosystem. “This innovation is a major step in securing our digital space and protecting every user,” said Indosat President Director and Chief Executive Officer Vikram Sinha.

Real-Time Protection Without High-End Devices

The AI-powered anti-spam and anti-scam feature operates automatically and in real time to detect suspicious senders or callers, filter potential threats, and issue warnings to customers. Developed on the AIvolusi5G foundation that integrates AI with Indosat’s 5G network, the technology enables on-network processing, eliminating the need for high-end devices or premium connections. As a result, the feature is accessible to users from all walks of life, wherever they are.

A Response to Rising Digital Fraud Cases

The launch comes as a direct response to the growing threats of digital fraud. According to the Asia Scam Report 2024 by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), 65 percent of Indonesians receive scam attempts weekly, ranging from phishing text messages and fake job offers to fraudulent investment schemes.

This initiative is also supported by Tanla, Indosat’s AI technology partner, along with global collaborators including Mastercard, GSMA, and GASA. “We believe that digital protection is a basic right for every Indonesian. Our collaboration with Tanla to bring AI-powered anti-spam and anti-scam solutions shows that technology can safeguard people’s daily digital lives,” Vikram added.

Part of Indosat’s AI-TechCo Transformation

This innovation is part of Indosat’s transformation into an AI-TechCo, committed to delivering safe, modern, and inclusive solutions. Through the “AI for Everyone” campaign, Vikram emphasized that AI technology must be accessible and beneficial to all, without exception.

Conclusion:
The launch of Indosat’s AI-based anti-spam and anti-scam feature marks a significant advancement in Indonesia’s fight against digital fraud. By combining advanced AI capabilities with inclusive accessibility, Indosat is not only safeguarding its users but also setting a benchmark for digital security in the country.
