Jakarta, INTI – The surge of increasingly complex digital threats has raised the urgency for real solutions to strengthen cybersecurity in Indonesia. This issue was highlighted during a meeting held on Wednesday, 29 October 2025 in Jakarta, where the Indonesian Association for Digitalization and Cyber Security (ADIGSI), together with the British Embassy Jakarta, hosted a roundtable discussion titled Cybersecurity in Financial Services.
Two Countries Strengthen Digital Financial System Resilience
ADIGSI Chairman, Firlie H. Ganinduto, explained that the focus of this meeting was not only on technical discussions, but also on strengthening a more resilient and sustainable cybersecurity ecosystem. Firlie emphasized that international collaboration is crucial to enhance knowledge transfer, best-practice exchange, and strategic synergy which have a direct impact on national resilience, particularly in protecting critical infrastructure.
The UK Ready to Drive Wider Cooperation Moving Forward
Matthew Downing, Deputy Head of Mission of the British Embassy Jakarta, conveyed that this collaboration marks a concrete momentum of bilateral relations, and will open new rooms for commercial and strategic cooperation in the coming years. He noted that this cooperation will be further solidified following the signing of a Strategic Partnership Agreement between President Prabowo Subianto and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, scheduled in the next few weeks.

The collaboration between ADIGSI and the UK government proves that strengthening cybersecurity in Indonesia cannot be done solely at the domestic level strategic cross-country cooperation is required to ensure that Indonesia’s digital transformation proceeds securely, inclusively, and in a protected manner.
