Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, said that artificial intelligence (AI) holds significant potential to increase productivity across key strategic sectors, including food, healthcare, and education.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Communication and Digital on Friday, Nezar noted that AI could be leveraged to strengthen food supply chain resilience while supporting national agricultural productivity.
“AI can make agriculture more precise, enable accurate logistics forecasting, and support continuous monitoring,” he said.
AI Driving Improvements in Healthcare and Education
Beyond the food sector, AI was also highlighted as playing a critical role in improving governance and the quality of healthcare services.
“AI can enable early diagnosis and personalized health monitoring,” he added.
In the education sector, AI is seen as capable of delivering learning platforms that offer improved and more engaging experiences for students.
Nezar also added that the government can leverage AI to enhance both efficiency and service quality in public administration.
Driving Adoption and Collaboration for AI Innovation
At the same event, Nezar expressed his appreciation for the release of the report Accelerating AI Adoption in Indonesia, which is expected to help speed up the widespread adoption of AI technology across the country.
“This report presents insights that go beyond analysis, providing meaningful guidance to turn research and ideas into practical AI adoption,” he said.
He hopes the report will serve as a catalyst for industry players to lead AI-driven transformation across key sectors.
In addition, the report is expected to encourage investors to support innovation growth and motivate academic institutions to continue nurturing and developing the nation’s digital talent.
Conclusion
Artificial intelligence is emerging as a key driver of productivity across Indonesia’s food, healthcare, education, and public service sectors. By enabling precision agriculture, early medical diagnostics, smarter learning platforms, and more efficient government services, AI has the potential to accelerate national development. With stronger collaboration between government, industry, investors, and academia, Indonesia is well positioned to turn AI innovation into real-world impact.
