Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) and the State-Owned Enterprises Agency (BP BUMN) are creating career pathways for Artificial Intelligence (AI) talents by integrating the AI Talent Factory with the BUMN AI Talent Pool. The initiative aims to bridge talent development programs with the real needs of the industry.
AI Talent Factory Connects Skills with Industry Needs
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, stated that the AI Talent Factory is designed to produce skilled professionals capable of addressing real-world challenges across various industries.
“This is not about trial and error; we aim to provide practical solutions,” Nezar said.
Through the collaboration between Kemkomdigi and BP BUMN, graduates of the AI Talent Factory will have opportunities to contribute to AI solution development within state-owned enterprises.
Nezar explained that the program was established to address Indonesia’s digital talent gap through collaboration between universities, centers of excellence, and technology companies.
Participants work on AI use cases based on actual government and industry needs, allowing them to develop solutions that can be implemented in real operational environments.
The partnership with BP BUMN is expected to ensure that participants’ learning experiences extend beyond training sessions and evolve into professional opportunities that contribute to improving business productivity.
Graduates of the AI Talent Factory will be prepared to participate in AI development projects across various BUMN sectors based on industry requirements.
“This gives young talents confidence that there is an ecosystem ready to support and accommodate their skills after completing the program,” Nezar added.
Advanced Training and Mentorship to Develop AI Experts
Head of the Digital Talent Development Center at Kemkomdigi’s Human Resources Development Agency, Said Mirza Pahlevi, explained that AI Talent Factory is not merely a training program, but an advanced AI talent development ecosystem with a rigorous participant selection process involving students from various universities.
Participants receive in-depth training in areas such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI model development.
They are also trained to solve real-world challenges through mentorship from academics, industry professionals, and AI experts from global technology companies.
“The goal is to create practical AI talents, not ordinary ones,” Said emphasized.
The talent development ecosystem is further strengthened through a digital learning platform that connects competency development with industry demands from end to end.
After completing training and certification, participants will be integrated into the talent pool, connecting qualified AI professionals with employment opportunities.
Through collaboration with BUMN, the AI Talent Factory is expected to accelerate AI talent absorption in Indonesia while supporting digital transformation across state-owned enterprises.
