Jakarta, INTI - Indonesian Diaspora Network Global (IDN Global) continues to strengthen its role as a strategic bridge connecting Indonesians across the world with their homeland through collaboration, empowerment, and global networking initiatives.
President of IDN Global Nathalia Widjaja emphasized that the organization promotes an inclusive and collaborative vision aimed at encouraging the Indonesian diaspora to contribute not only to fellow diaspora communities, but also to Indonesia and the countries where they reside.
“We can see from this motto that IDN Global’s primary vision is to become an inclusive and collaborative organization where we can empower and motivate the Indonesian diaspora to contribute both to fellow diaspora communities, Indonesia, and the countries where we live,” said Nathalia Widjaja during an interview in Hong Kong on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
IDN Global carries the motto, “Connecting the dots, expanding the opportunities, and promoting shared prosperity for Indonesia and its Diaspora,” as the foundation for expanding global connectivity and opportunities for Indonesians abroad.
To implement this vision, IDN Global continues to pursue four key long-term missions, including advocacy and protection for Indonesian migrant workers, support for dual citizenship initiatives, diaspora-based village development programs, and strengthening global connectivity through its Diaspora Connect program.
Nathalia explained that the diaspora village development initiative has been implemented through partnerships with several regional governments, including areas in East Flores, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and regions surrounding Indonesia’s future capital city.
“We are also preparing a cooperation draft with the Nusantara Capital Authority with the hope that several villages around the new capital city can be digitally transformed. Through digital systems, we believe safer migration can be realized,” Nathalia explained.
Expanding Indonesia’s Global Diaspora Network
Currently, IDN Global has established more than 50 chapters across five continents, reflecting the extensive reach of the Indonesian diaspora as a strategic global force.
Nathalia also highlighted the important role of media in building a positive image of both the Indonesian diaspora and Indonesia itself through accurate and constructive information.
“The role of media is extremely important in connecting diaspora communities with one another and with Indonesia, especially in encouraging positive thinking and producing accurate and meaningful content,” she said.
“With a positive image, the welfare of both the diaspora community and Indonesia as a whole can continue to grow,” Nathalia added.
IDN Global remains optimistic that the Indonesian diaspora will continue to evolve as a collaborative global force capable of contributing directly to national development and strengthening Indonesia’s position on the international stage.
Conclusion
Indonesian Diaspora Network Global continues to strengthen the role of the Indonesian diaspora as a global collaborative force through empowerment, connectivity, and strategic partnerships. With expanding international networks and community-driven initiatives, IDN Global aims to contribute to national development while enhancing Indonesia’s global presence and reputation.
