Google Unveils Game-Changing AI Features for Gemini – Now It Sees and Understands Your Screen!

Jakarta, INTI – Google has once again showcased its latest innovations at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 on March 3, 2025, in Barcelona, Spain. The tech giant introduced two groundbreaking features of its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, Gemini: live video and screen-sharing. These features are designed to provide a more intuitive and real-time interactive experience for users.

Live Video: AI That Can ‘See’ and Provide Recommendations

The live video feature was first announced at the Google I/O 2024 conference. This technology allows Gemini to utilize a smartphone camera to ‘see’ surrounding objects and respond in real time. With this feature, users can ask Gemini to explain an object or provide suggestions based on what the camera captures.

In a demonstration shared by Google, a ceramics expert used this feature to help choose a glaze with a ‘mid-century modern’ aesthetic. By pointing the camera at various glaze samples, Gemini provided recommendations on the best color options.

"Based on the colors, I think olive green or blue would be suitable for a mid-century modern aesthetic," Gemini responded during the demonstration. When the user asked for a more specific recommendation, Gemini selected the olive green glaze located in the second row, far left.

While this feature offers an exciting interactive experience, Google has emphasized that Gemini’s performance may vary depending on lighting conditions and specific scenarios.

Screen-Sharing: Helping with Search and Content Analysis

In addition to live video, Google also introduced the screen-sharing feature, allowing users to share their device screens with Gemini. With this feature, users can request AI-driven recommendations or analyses related to the content displayed on their screens.

In a demonstration released by Google, a user was browsing for loose-fit jeans on an online store and asked Gemini for outfit suggestions to pair with them.

"For a casual look, these jeans can be paired with a white t-shirt or a black turtleneck," Gemini suggested. The user then asked which jacket would complement the turtleneck, and Gemini recommended a denim or bomber jacket as the best options.

This screen-sharing feature enables users to receive instant recommendations based on what they see on their screens, enhancing efficiency in search and decision-making.

Availability and Access

Google announced that both features will roll out at the end of March 2025 but will be exclusively available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, the premium paid version of the AI assistant.

"Live video and screen-sharing will be available for Gemini Advanced subscribers as part of the Google One AI Premium package on Android devices later this month," Google stated in its official blog post.

Conclusion

With these new features, Google further solidifies Gemini’s position as one of the most advanced AI assistants in the world. The combination of visual technology and increasingly intelligent AI opens up new possibilities for human-device interactions, making the digital experience more practical and efficient. If these features prove successful, Gemini could set a new standard for the future of virtual assistant technology!
