Google Cloud Accelerates AI Adoption in Indonesia to Increase Operational Efficiency

6 hours ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - Google Cloud pushes for the adoption of agentic AI in Indonesia by helping companies move from trials to large-scale AI implementations in business and production environments.

During the Indonesia Leaders’ Connect 2026 event, the newly appointed Country Director of Google Cloud Indonesia, Karim Siregar, outlined the company’s vision to help Indonesian companies improve workforce productivity and deliver more personalized user experiences by using agentic AI.

According to Karim, Google Cloud’s approach is shifting from a “cloud first” strategy to an “AI ready” one. Google Cloud also emphasized its ability to support complex AI workloads in Indonesia while prioritizing security, cost predictability, and good governance.

"In the era of agentic AI, one of the most important benchmarks for engineering capability is the ability to deliver solutions at scale in Indonesia," said Karim.

Gemini Enterprise in Business Environment

Google Cloud revealed that several companies in Indonesia have leveraged Gemini Enterprise to deliver real business value across various sectors. The companies include Emtek Group, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk.

Furthermore, Google Cloud believes that as companies begin to move AI implementations from the experimental stage to production environments, cost and resource management become increasingly important.

Through Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud offers customers the flexibility to choose AI models that best suit their needs while gaining visibility into operational costs and return on investment (ROI).

With its own vertical stack, from custom TPUs to Gemini models, Google Cloud can significantly lower the cost per token for customers. Furthermore, Gemini Enterprise also features FinOps tools and governance features that provide more transparency into AI agent costs and performance, enabling companies to expand AI implementations scalably.

Google Cloud’s Engineer and Product Team

As part of this strategy, Google Cloud is expanding its Forward-Deployed Engineer (FDE) team in Indonesia. Through this investment, Google Cloud places AI specialists directly in customer work environments to assist with technology implementation, reduce AI implementation risks, accelerate the transition to production environments, and maximize the benefits of AI investments.

This program also aims to help companies integrate generative AI into core business processes, from developing customer service agents and automating data analytics to improving supply chain efficiency. Google Cloud hopes that more companies in Indonesia will be able to implement agentic AI as a foundation for business transformation while improving operational efficiency across various sectors.
