Jakarta, INTI – Chinese drone technology manufacturer DJI has once again attracted the attention of the industry by launching its latest product, the Matrice 400. This industrial-grade drone is designed to answer heavy operational needs in various sectors such as emergency rescue, construction, and large-scale mapping. What makes this drone special? One of them is its ability to fly for almost a full hour while carrying a load of up to 6 kilograms.
Fly Longer, Carry Heavier Loads
The DJI Matrice 400 is one of the longest flying drones in its class. Under normal conditions, this drone is able to hover for 53 minutes, and when carrying a full load, the flight time is still impressive at 59 minutes.
In comparison, previous DJI products such as the Matrice 350 RTK can only stay in the air for a maximum of 55 minutes. With these advantages, the Matrice 400 is said to be the ideal solution for long-duration missions.
Tough on Extreme Terrain
Not just in terms of duration, the Matrice 400 also comes with IP55 durability certification, which means it is resistant to water and dust. The drone can operate in extreme temperatures between -20 and 50 degrees Celsius, and even remains reliable for offshore use-capable of taking off from a ship and landing on a moving vessel.
Video Range up to 40 KM
In terms of data transmission, DJI embeds the O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission system supported by 10 antennas, allowing the drone to send images up to 40 km to the controller. This technology features a built-in relay module that is able to extend the signal range, even in dense areas of buildings or trees.
The Matrice 400 also supports sub-2G frequencies and can automatically select the best network when paired with two DJI Cellular Dongle 2, making for a stable connection in both urban and remote areas.
Smart Detection and Smart AR
One of the standout features is Smart Detection, which allows the drone to automatically recognize objects, including vehicles, people and boats, even in difficult or dark conditions through thermal imaging.
Also supported by the Smart AR Projection feature, the drone can display visual information directly on the controller screen. This feature makes navigation easy, displaying markers such as Power Line AR when detecting power lines, building names, and important landmarks around the drone.
7 Additional Devices Can Be Installed
The DJI Matrice 400 is equipped with four E-Ports V2, allowing users to add up to seven devices at once with a maximum total load of 6 kg. Some of the compatible devices mentioned are the Zenmuse H30, L2, P1, S1, and V1 cameras, which support features such as LiDAR, laser range finder, and night vision.
Availability and Estimated Price
The Matrice 400 drone will be available through authorized DJI Enterprise distributors. Although there is no official price yet, products in the Matrice line are generally priced between USD 11,000-25,000 or around Rp 179 million to Rp 407 million, depending on the configuration and enhancements.
Conclusion
The DJI Matrice 400 represents a significant leap forward in the world of industrial drones, with its long flight range, ability to carry heavy loads, and smart technology for navigation and detection. This makes it a great choice for critical missions in difficult terrain.
