Cisco Unveils New Chip and AgenticOps for Integrated AI Infrastructure

3 months ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - Cisco has introduced its latest switching chip, Silicon One G300, along with its AgenticOps innovation to strengthen integrated artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

The AI infrastructure solutions were unveiled during Cisco Live in Amsterdam this week.

The launch marks part of Cisco’s broader strategy to deliver critical infrastructure for the AI era, integrating networking, security, observability, and digital sovereignty support into a unified technology platform.

"The pace of AI innovation is moving faster than ever before, and we are delivering the critical infrastructure customers need to innovate faster while adopting AI securely and safely," said Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer of Cisco, in an official statement on Monday, February 23, 2025.

New Chip for Large-Scale AI Clusters

Silicon One G300 is a high-speed switching chip designed to enhance data center performance, particularly for facilities supporting AI workloads.

In simple terms, the chip enables faster and more efficient data traffic within data centers.

The technology is built to support large-scale AI clusters, whether for model training, inference, or real-time autonomous (agentic) AI systems.

Cisco claims the chip can increase network utilization by up to 33 percent and accelerate job completion by 28 percent compared to non-optimized systems.

The chip is also engineered to support extremely large AI clusters, including those operated by hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and major enterprises.

In addition to the chip, Cisco introduced the N9100 and 8000 networking systems powered by the G300.

To simplify management, Cisco also launched Nexus One, a unified control panel for managing data centers across both on-premise and cloud environments.

The goal is to make data centers more efficient and less complex, enabling organizations to maximize their AI investments.

AgenticOps to Simplify IT Operations

Beyond hardware, Cisco also introduced an innovation called AgenticOps.

This technology is designed to help IT teams manage AI systems more efficiently.

AgenticOps enables operational processes to become more automated, streamlined, and scalable according to organizational needs.

The system functions by monitoring multiple environments simultaneously, including networks, security frameworks, and applications. It leverages telemetry data collected from various Cisco products, including networking systems and security platforms.

With this comprehensive visibility, IT teams can detect issues more quickly and improve overall operational efficiency.

In addition, Cisco enhanced its AI-powered Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) capabilities.

This feature allows the system to analyze the reasons and mechanisms behind AI traffic (why and how it occurs), enabling faster detection of emerging threats.

Conclusion

Cisco’s introduction of the Silicon One G300 chip and AgenticOps platform highlights its strategic push to deliver fully integrated AI infrastructure. By combining high-performance networking hardware with AI-driven operational automation and enhanced security capabilities, Cisco aims to help enterprises scale AI adoption more efficiently, securely, and sustainably in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
