China Fast-Tracks the Shift from Traditional Agriculture to Smart, Technology-Based Farming Systems

2 months ago | Smart City

Jakarta, INTI - China is accelerating the transformation of traditional agriculture into smart farming in Taishan, Guangdong Province, by leveraging modern technologies to improve production efficiency.

Technology Driven Agricultural Modernization

In recent years, Taishan has actively developed intelligent grain cultivation systems through the implementation of agricultural mechanization.

The mechanized rice planting rate in the region has now reached 94.5 percent.

In addition, the overall mechanization rate covering plowing, seeding, and harvesting processes has reached 98.35 percent.

The adoption of these technologies enables farming operations to be carried out faster and more efficiently compared to traditional methods.

Impact and Future Development

The implementation of smart farming has significantly increased agricultural productivity while reducing reliance on manual labor.

Farm workers now operate modern machinery to plant and manage rice fields more effectively.

This initiative forms part of China’s broader strategy to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural modernization.

Conclusion

China’s push toward smart farming in Taishan highlights a significant shift toward technology-driven agriculture, improving efficiency, boosting productivity, and supporting long-term food security.
