Jakarta, INTI - Semiconductor company Broadcom has agreed to partner with Google to produce artificial intelligence (AI) chips.
Broadcom announced on Monday, April 6, 2026, its readiness for this long-term collaboration, which is set to continue through 2031.
Under the agreement, Broadcom will develop Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), specialized chips designed by Google to accelerate AI processing. Additionally, Broadcom will ensure the supply of networking components and other supporting devices for Google’s latest AI server racks.
Anthropic Partnership and Business Impact
Separately, Broadcom and Google are also collaborating with AI company Anthropic. As part of this partnership, Anthropic will gain access to approximately 3.5 gigawatts of next-generation TPU-based AI computing capacity via Broadcom starting in 2027.
The usage of this capacity will depend on Anthropic’s business performance. Broadcom, Google, and Anthropic are also exploring operational and funding partnerships to bring this project to fruition.
“This innovative partnership with Google and Broadcom continues our disciplined approach to strengthening infrastructure,” said Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic.
“We are building the capacity needed to support the exponential growth we’ve observed in our customer base, while enabling Claude to define the boundaries of AI development,” Rao added in an official Anthropic blog post.
Anthropic’s business is currently showing strong growth, with annual revenue exceeding $30 billion (approximately IDR 512 trillion), up sharply from $9 billion (approximately IDR 153 trillion) at the end of 2025.
Following the announcement of this collaboration, Broadcom’s shares rose 3% in U.S. trading on Monday, April 6, 2026.
According to analysts at Mizuho Research & Technologies, Broadcom is projected to generate $21 billion (approximately IDR 358 trillion) in AI-related revenue from Anthropic in 2026, rising to $42 billion (approximately IDR 717 trillion) in 2027.
In addition to Anthropic, Broadcom is also partnering with other AI companies, including OpenAI, to develop AI chips. Prior to these collaborations, both Anthropic and OpenAI heavily relied on Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs) to power generative AI workloads.
Conclusion
The collaboration between Broadcom, Google, and Anthropic highlights a major step in AI hardware innovation, strengthening infrastructure for large-scale AI computing and positioning these companies at the forefront of the rapidly growing AI technology market.
