Jakarta, INTI - The transformation of the manufacturing industry into a smart industry requires technological innovations that can increase efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. To support this need, the Research Center for Production Machinery Manufacturing Technology (PRTMMP) of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has established a research collaboration with PT Denso Manufacturing Indonesia to develop an intelligent system for material mobilization and product quality assurance in the manufacturing industry.
The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement on Research and Development of an Intelligent System for Mobilization and Product Quality Assurance in the Manufacturing Industry, which took place at the PT Denso Manufacturing Indonesia office in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, on Thursday, June 25.
Synergy Between Research and Industry
The Head of PRTMMP, Mahfudz Al Huda, explained that this collaboration aims to synergize the resources, competencies, and facilities of both institutions in conducting research and development of manufacturing technology.
"This collaboration is aimed at producing designs, engineering, and prototypes of an intelligent system that supports material mobilization and product quality assurance in the manufacturing process," said Mahfudz.
According to him, the partnership between BRIN and PT Denso Manufacturing Indonesia is expected to accelerate the downstreaming of research results into ready-for-application technologies in the industrial sector, produce applicable innovations, and strengthen national industrial transformation toward smarter, more efficient, and globally competitive manufacturing.
Focused on Industrial Automation
The research being developed covers various technologies supporting industrial automation. Sasono Rahardjo, an engineer at BRIN's PRTMMP, explained that one focus of the research is the development of efficient and reliable power supplies and brushed DC motor drivers for various electromechanical industrial applications.
"This technology also has the potential to be utilized in the development of innovative products, such as smart wheelchairs, while also opening up opportunities for product diversification based on national research findings," said Sasono.
Furthermore, the research is directed at developing systems that integrate drive technology, power management, sensors, and intelligent control systems. This integration is expected to produce safer, more ergonomic and adaptive products, and offer higher added value for the needs of the modern manufacturing industry.
This collaboration also includes the development of a traffic management system for indoor Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) used on production lines. The system encompasses route management, scheduling, multi-AGV coordination, and automated conflict avoidance mechanisms. Its implementation is expected to improve material flow efficiency, strengthen operational safety, and support the integration of AGVs with smart manufacturing systems already implemented in industrial environments.
