1 year ago | Cyber Security

Jakarta, INTI - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has introduced BigBox AI, a cybersecurity solution leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to provide more advanced protection than traditional methods. With the increasing global cyber threats, Telkom continues to strengthen its digital infrastructure to offer optimal security for its customers.

EVP Digital Business & Technology Telkom, Komang Budi Aryasa, emphasized that BigBox AI is designed to provide an additional layer of protection for Indonesia's critical assets. "The AI we have developed can detect potential digital threats early, enabling preventive actions to be taken immediately," he stated in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

AI Technology for Early Cyber Threat Detection

BigBox AI integrates AI technologies such as real-time data analysis, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP) to detect suspicious patterns within networks and systems. Its anomaly detection capability allows for monitoring suspicious activities and providing early warnings to users before an attack occurs.

Beyond cybersecurity, BigBox AI is also utilized across various sectors, including border security monitoring and the protection of vital national data. This technology enhances incident response and predicts security risks before they escalate into actual threats.

BigBox AI Implementation Across Multiple Sectors

As Telkom's flagship platform, BigBox AI is not only used for cybersecurity but also across multiple industries. In the financial sector, BigBox AI’s BigVision service helps banks enhance digital transaction security while protecting customer data from breaches. BigVision can automatically analyze visual data, identify behavioral patterns, and monitor the density of people and vehicles in real-time.

Additionally, BigBox AI offers various AI-driven solutions for businesses, including:

  • LLM and NLP-based Chatbots to improve customer service for corporations and government agencies.
  • Legal Analytics to assist in data-driven policy-making by automatically analyzing legal documents.
  • People Movement Analytics for urban planning and population movement mapping.
  • eKYC as a secure digital authentication solution.
  • CCTV Analytics capable of counting people, vehicles, and specific objects.
  • Data Security & Privacy to ensure compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law enforced since October 2024.

CEO of BigBox AI, Agus Laksono, explained that BigBox AI’s data analysis also helps SMEs connect supply and demand across cities to boost sales revenue. With a 400% business growth from 2018 to 2024, BigBox now serves hundreds of customers from government institutions, private companies, and SMEs.

Telkom Expands BigBox AI Services to B2C

Recognizing the significant market potential, Telkom has begun expanding BigBox AI services to individual customers through a Software as a Service (SaaS) model this year. This initiative aims to extend the benefits of AI beyond large enterprises to personal users as well.

Telkom ensures that all its AI innovations comply with strict data privacy and cybersecurity regulations. Additionally, Telkom employs energy-efficient technology within its AI infrastructure to support carbon emission reduction efforts, aligning with its commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance.

Conclusion

With the introduction of BigBox AI, Telkom further solidifies its position as a leader in digital innovation in Indonesia, driving digital transformation and fostering economic growth through advanced technology.
