Jakarta, INTI - Amazon Web Services (AWS) assesses that the need for digital talent in Indonesia is still large to encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the business world. For this reason, the company is expanding its AI training and certification programs for the younger generation and holding job fairs to bring digital talents together with the industry.
Head APJ Market Expansion & Strategic Partnerships, AWS T&C, Yashinta Bahana said the challenge of developing digital talents is not only providing knowledge but also ensuring they can be absorbed into the industry and develop their own AI projects. Yashinta said that AWS is trying to bridge the needs of industry with educational institutions that may not always understand the digital competencies that companies need.
Previously, AWS, with teachers and 2,600 students from 21 high schools in West Java, broke the Guinness World Records for the Most Applications Made in an On-Site Generative AI category in 2025. Located at SMK Negeri 1 Karawang, students used generative AI technology through PartyRock, an Amazon Bedrock-based platform, to create 10,821 Gen AI applications in one day.
Training Young People to Support Future Advanced Technology
Yashinta said that AWS encourages more young people to be interested in STEM fields. The company’s strategy is to carry out inclusive and disability-friendly digital training programs from basic to advanced levels. AWS also helps companies improve their employees' skills in the fields of cloud, cybersecurity, and AI.
Meanwhile, AWS Indonesia Country Manager, Anthony Amni, emphasized that the technology and infrastructure that AWS brings to Indonesia have global standards. However, he highlighted that this infrastructure needs to be supported by competent and skill-ready human resources to work optimally.
"We want to be a milestone for digital Indonesia through talent and technology," said Anthony.
