Jakarta, INTI – Dubai is once again making history as it becomes the first city in the world to operate commercial flying cars. This futuristic innovation is the result of a partnership between local company Aviterra and Dutch manufacturer PAL-V, which plans to introduce over 100 units of the PAL-V Liberty to the Middle East and Africa starting in 2027.
The PAL-V Liberty is a two-seater hybrid vehicle capable of transforming from a road car into a gyroplane in just five minutes. With a door-to-door travel concept, it offers a revolutionary solution for those seeking to escape traffic congestion and travel more efficiently.
Priced at $799,000, the flying car targets high-net-worth individuals and government officials. In addition to the vehicle itself, buyers will receive specialized pilot training, as operating the vehicle requires aviation skills beyond traditional driving.
Following a 12-year certification process, PAL-V has obtained all necessary approvals from international aviation authorities, including IATA and the FAA. Production is set to begin next year in the Netherlands, with deliveries to the United Arab Emirates expected by early 2027. A 100-hour flight verification phase will take place in 2026 to finalize product readiness.
The launch of the PAL-V Liberty in Dubai marks a significant leap toward personal air mobility, a concept once limited to science fiction. Not only does this innovation aim to resolve urban traffic problems, but it also aligns perfectly with Dubai’s identity as a hub of luxury, progress, and cutting-edge technology.
With the arrival of the PAL-V Liberty, the world stands on the brink of a transportation revolution. Flying cars are no longer a dream or a cinematic fantasy—they are about to become a reality. As always, Dubai leads the way, proving itself as a global pioneer of innovation. In 2027, the sky will no longer be the limit—it will be the next highway.
