Jakarta, INTI - PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk continues to strengthen its network infrastructure across Kalimantan as part of its commitment to accelerating Indonesia's digital transformation. The company's services now cover 55 cities and regencies, supported by more than 27,000 base transceiver stations (BTS), including over 300 5G BTS.
Kalimantan has become a strategic region for XLSMART's network expansion, driven by growing demand for reliable connectivity from communities, businesses, and the public sector. The island's significance has also increased following its designation as the location of Indonesia's new capital city (IKN), creating greater demand for world-class digital infrastructure.
Regional Group Head Kalimantan of XLSMART, Sarroso Dwi Panggah, said the company continues to strengthen its network to provide faster, more stable, and more reliable services while supporting the region's digital economy.
"We aspire to become the most loved telecommunications company by continuously improving network quality and coverage across Kalimantan. Supported by more than 27,000 BTS and over 300 5G BTS, we are confident in meeting customers' connectivity needs while contributing to the region's digital economic growth," he said.
Following the integration of its network infrastructure, XLSMART's services now reach all 55 cities and regencies across Kalimantan. The company has also expanded its 5G blanket coverage through more than 300 operational 5G BTS in Balikpapan and Banjarmasin.
Growing 5G Ecosystem and Customer Experience
The expanded 5G network delivers high-speed internet connectivity with lower latency and greater stability, supporting a wide range of digital activities, including communication, entertainment, education, and business operations.
The strengthened network infrastructure has also driven higher data consumption. During April–May 2026, data traffic increased by more than 12% compared with the previous period, fueled by the growing popularity of video streaming and social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
To enhance customer experience, XLSMART has introduced its XL ULTRA 5G+ packages, offering data allowances of 65 GB, 150 GB, 300 GB, and 600 GB. The packages also include additional benefits such as roaming services in nine countries, voice call services, and access to digital entertainment platforms.
Looking ahead, XLSMART plans to further expand its network coverage and increase capacity across Kalimantan while accelerating the rollout of 5G services. Nationwide, the company now operates more than 253,000 BTS, serving over 69 million customers across Indonesia.
Conclusion
By expanding its 5G blanket coverage and strengthening network infrastructure across Kalimantan, XLSMART is laying a stronger digital foundation for communities, businesses, and public services. The continued investment reflects the company's commitment to supporting Indonesia's digital transformation and meeting the growing demand for fast, reliable, and inclusive connectivity.
