Telkom’s AI Center Drives Faster Digital Transformation Across Eastern Indonesia

1 week ago | Digital Technology

Jakarta, INTI - Telkom Indonesia continues to strengthen digital talent development through a range of strategic initiatives, one of which is the AI Connect Offline Series held at the AI Center in Makassar.

This initiative is part of Telkom’s effort to enhance developer capabilities, particularly in Eastern Indonesia, with a focus on encouraging the adoption of artificial intelligence in modern software development processes.

Carrying the theme “Exploring the Role of AI Coding Assistants in Modern Software Development,” the event provides in-depth insights into how AI supports coding activities, accelerating application development while improving the quality of developers’ outputs.

Telkom’s IT Digital Director, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, emphasized the critical role of digital talent in driving transformation across industries, highlighting the importance of technologies such as machine learning and deep learning in data processing.

“The adoption of AI coding assistants is a strategic step to enhance developer productivity and accelerate the development cycle of digital solutions aligned with industry needs,” he stated.

The program is part of Telkom’s AI Center of Excellence initiative, which is built on five main pillars, including AI Connect, AI Campus, AI Playground, AI Hub, and AI Native. These pillars are integrated to foster a comprehensive AI ecosystem in Indonesia.

Building an Inclusive AI Ecosystem in Eastern Indonesia

In practice, the AI Connect Offline Series goes beyond theoretical discussions by offering hands-on experience. Participants gain direct exposure to how AI is applied in software development workflows.

Muhammad Zulfikar Aris, CTOO of Digisaurus.id, shared insights on the use of AI coding assistants, explaining how the technology enhances efficiency across various stages of application development.

AI-powered coding tools enable developers to write code faster and more accurately, reduce errors, and improve the overall performance of data-driven applications. In modern workflows, these tools are becoming increasingly essential for boosting both productivity and output quality.

To deepen understanding, the event also featured hands-on sessions where participants developed simple portfolio applications using platforms such as FlutterFlow, offering a practical view of how AI can streamline development processes.

Telkom also introduced the AI Connect Community Platform, designed as a collaborative space for digital talent to access the latest technology insights, improve skills, and explore project and freelance opportunities.

The AI Center in Makassar is expected to serve as a sustainable hub for collaboration, fostering digital innovation in Eastern Indonesia while improving technology literacy across communities.

Through these initiatives, Telkom demonstrates its commitment to building a strong digital talent ecosystem. This effort is expected to accelerate Indonesia’s digital transformation while enhancing national competitiveness through technology-driven innovation.

Conclusion

Telkom’s AI-driven initiatives highlight its strong commitment to developing digital talent and accelerating technological adoption across Indonesia, particularly in the eastern region. By combining capacity building, collaboration, and practical implementation, Telkom is laying the foundation for a more inclusive and competitive digital ecosystem that supports long-term national growth.
