Jakarta, INTI - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) continues to strengthen its commitment to building a national digital talent and innovation ecosystem through strategic collaborations with leading global institutions. This is presented through a collaboration between Telkom University (TelU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS).

This collaboration serves as a foundation for the two institutions to develop collaboration in education, research, innovation, and digital talent. It is an effort to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia's human resources in the digital economy era.

The scope of the collaboration includes graduate certificate programs, student and faculty mobility, joint research, and collaboration in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital business, sustainability, the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, logistics and supply chain management, data centers, and cloud computing.

Through these various programs, the two institutions are expected to expand knowledge exchange and research capacity, while producing talent that is increasingly relevant to the needs of the rapidly growing digital industry.

Strengthening Indonesia–Singapore Cooperation

This collaboration follows an initiative by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of Indonesia to strengthen Indonesia and Singapore cooperation in the digital economy and talent development. It was conveyed during the Coordinating Minister’s work visit to Singapore in April 2026.

Telkom's Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio, Seno Soemadji, stated that this collaboration is part of Telkom's commitment to building an innovation ecosystem that connects education, industry, government, and global partners to accelerate the development of digital talent capable of competing internationally.

"Digital transformation requires not only infrastructure and technology, but also world-class talent and a robust innovation ecosystem. The collaboration between Telkom University and the National University of Singapore is a strategic step to expand access for Indonesian talent to global networks, knowledge, and best practices," he said.

Seno also hoped that the collaboration will foster more digital talent through exchange programs, joint research, innovation partnerships, and the development of solutions based on AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and other digital technologies that can address industry needs.

Advancing Opportunities in Research and Innovation

Meanwhile, Senior Vice Provost of NUS, Prof. Bernard C Y Tan, stated that the university welcomes the collaboration with TelU to advance education, research, and innovation.

“We believe this partnership will open up various opportunities for knowledge exchange, talent development, and joint research that can address challenges at the regional and global levels. We hope this long-term collaboration will have a meaningful impact on both institutions and society,” he said.

Rector of TelU, Prof. Dr. Suyanto, explained that this collaboration represents a crucial momentum for Telkom University to strengthen its role as an educational institution capable of bridging the needs of the academic world with the development of the global digital industry.

"Indonesia still needs more digital talent to support digital transformation and realize the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. Through this partnership with the National University of Singapore, we aim to deliver a variety of concrete programs, ranging from academic exchanges, joint research, to community service. We hope this collaboration will strengthen the quality of graduates while providing global experience that is increasingly relevant to industry needs," he said.
