Jakarta, INTI - Telkom conducted training in AI utilization for teachers and provided digital infrastructure strengthening support through the BISA PandAI and BISA Vokasi programs. These programs are a part of Telkom’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to accelerate the creation of an innovative, inclusive, and competitive education ecosystem in various regions.
This implementation was carried out through the distribution of Application, Network, and Device (AND) assistance and intensive training for educators in Sambas Regency on July 20 and Mempawah Regency on July 22.
The assistance provided includes learning devices equipped with internet access and Telkom's Pijar Sekolah platform, as well as artificial intelligence (AI) utilization training designed to improve teacher competency in delivering a more effective, adaptive, and relevant teaching and learning process in line with technological developments.
Digital Transformation in Indonesia Education Sector
This was a part of Telkom’s efforts in supporting the rapidly growing digital transformation in the education sector and driving the need for equitable access to technology across Indonesia.
According to data from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, in the 2025/2026 academic year, computer availability for learning activities in West Kalimantan Province remains relatively limited, at 9.45% at the elementary school level, 34.55% at the junior high school level, 37.74% at the senior high school level, 55.36% at the vocational high school level, and 17.86% at the special needs school level.
Meanwhile, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for education and learning is increasing significantly, reaching 43.98 percent in 2026, up from 21.84 percent previously. This situation demonstrates the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure and improving the competency of educators to ensure a more equitable educational transformation.
Telkom’s Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility, Hery Susanto, said that Telkom is committed to delivering sustainable and real impact to society by strengthening the quality and equity of education with AI and digital connectivity in various regions.
“We believe that collaboration with local governments and educational institutions is key to accelerating the creation of a digital education ecosystem that is innovative, inclusive, and ready to face future challenges,” said Hery.
