Sightful Launches Spacetop G1, The Worlds First AR Laptop Without a Physical Screen

5 days ago | Digital Technology

Jakarta, INTI – Technology continues to make history. Sightful, a tech company based in Israel, has officially launched the Spacetop G1, the world’s first augmented reality (AR) laptop without a physical screen. Although the device was introduced to the public back in January, its official release this year brings a breath of fresh air to the “work from anywhere” concept.

Unlike conventional laptops, the Spacetop G1 does not come with a monitor. Instead, users wear NReal AR glasses, which project a virtual display of up to 100 inches visible only to the user. This creates a more private, portable, and immersive work experience.

Virtual Display and High Performance in One Package

The included NReal glasses connect via cable and feature two OLED screens, each with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a 50-degree diagonal field of view. Weighing only 81.6 grams, the glasses are comfortable for extended use and can be fitted with prescription lenses for personalized vision support.

Physically, the Spacetop G1 resembles an external keyboard with a cover. The cover houses a 5 MP webcam and storage for the glasses. With no built-in screen, the laptop is more compact and lightweight weighing just 1.39 kg, making it ideal for on-the-go productivity.

Powered by a Strong Chipset and Developed by World-Class Experts

Despite its minimalist design, the Spacetop G1 packs powerful hardware. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon QCS8550 chipset, with a Kryo CPU and Adreno 740 GPU. The system is paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and operates on Chrome OS, ensuring efficiency and seamless connectivity.

Remarkably, the device is the result of collaboration among more than 60 computing experts from Apple, Microsoft, and Magic Leap, who have long specialized in spatial computing and AR technologies.

Built to Support Modern Productivity

Sightful CEO and Co-Founder Tamir Berliner explained that the Spacetop G1 was created to meet the needs of today’s mobile professionals. “Laptops are essential to our work lives, but the technology hasn’t evolved to support a true ‘work from anywhere’ mindset. At the same time, augmented reality is promising, but not yet usable in everyday scenarios. Spacetop G1 is the first step toward a new paradigm,” said Tamir.

The device is equipped with modern connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 7, 5G, eSIM, Nano-SIM, Bluetooth 5.3, and two USB-C ports that support accessories like external monitors giving users even more workspace flexibility. Its 60 Wh battery is claimed to last up to eight hours and can charge to 85% in under two hours.

Conclusion: The Future of Work Has Arrived

The launch of Spacetop G1 signals a new chapter in personal computing. With AR technology and an ultra-portable design, Sightful has delivered a device that is not only futuristic but also practical for day-to-day productivity. Through this innovation, the idea of “working anywhere” is no longer just a concept but a reality users can experience today.
