Through the Nusa Mandiri Career Center (NCC), the university is exploring a strategic collaboration with Academic RACER Robot Indonesia to open internship opportunities and strengthen competencies in robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The collaboration discussion was held virtually via Zoom Meeting on Friday, June 12, 2026, and was attended by Muhammad Faisal, Head of NCC Universitas Nusa Mandiri; Dr. Ali Khumaidi, Head of the AI Center and Nusa Mandiri Innovation Center (NIC); and Aji Endro Cahyono, S.T., Head of Academic RACER Robot Indonesia.
This initial meeting marks the beginning of a synergy between academia and industry aimed at developing an impactful internship program focused on enhancing student competencies in robotics, AI, and future technologies.
Industry Perspective on the Need for Future Digital Talent
Aji Endro Cahyono stated that the robotics and AI industries are growing rapidly and require young talent who are not only academically strong but also have relevant hands-on experience.
“Today’s industry needs human resources who can adapt to the rapid development of robotics and artificial intelligence technologies. Therefore, we see Universitas Nusa Mandiri as a strategic partner in preparing digital talent ready for the industry through applied and impactful internship programs,” he said.
During the discussion, Academic RACER Robot Indonesia expressed its interest in collaborating with UNM to design internship programs that provide students with direct experience in industry-based robotics and AI projects.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Faisal, Head of NCC Universitas Nusa Mandiri, welcomed the collaboration opportunity, stating that it aligns with the university’s Internship Experience Program (IEP) 3+1, which allows students to study for three years and gain one year of industry experience.
“The Internship Experience Program (IEP) 3+1 is one of Universitas Nusa Mandiri’s strategies to prepare graduates who are competitive and ready for the workforce. Collaboration with Academic RACER Robot Indonesia is a great opportunity to provide students with relevant internship experience in robotics and AI technologies,” he explained in a statement on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
He added that this partnership is expected to help students improve technical competencies, strengthen their professional portfolios, and better understand industry needs before graduating.
“We hope this synergy will open more opportunities for students to develop skills, expand professional networks, and enhance their competitiveness in the digital transformation era,” he added.
On the same occasion, Dr. Ali Khumaidi, Head of the AI Center and Nusa Mandiri Innovation Center (NIC), emphasized the importance of structured mentoring in developing competencies in AI and robotics.
“Competency development in Artificial Intelligence and robotics requires a combination of theoretical understanding, practical experience, and continuous mentoring.
