Jakarta, INTI - OpenAI is developing a desktop application that combines its ChatGPT chatbot, coding tools, and a web browser into a single platform, in an effort to maintain user engagement amid strict competition with rivals like Anthropic.
This integrated application will combine ChatGPT, Codex, and ChatGPT Atlas, an artificial intelligence(AI)-based browser released last year, according to sources familiar with the plans. A launch date is not yet known.
Fidji Simo, the CEO of applications at OpenAI, will lead the platform’s development and marketing strategy. OpenAI President, Greg Brockman, is also said to be involved in the development. OpenAI declined to release a statement.
The Wall Street Journal first reported details of the application's development.
OpenAI, along with Anthropic, Alphabet Inc.'s Google, and other AI developers, have launched AI models capable of handling increasingly complex tasks in recent years, from analyzing corporate financial statements to writing code and generating highly realistic images and videos.
