6 months ago | Digital Health

Jakarta, INTI — In an exclusive interview with INTI Media at INTI Expo 2025 in JIExpo, Head of the Innovation and Financing Work Team at the Ministry of Health, Drg. Rudy, highlighted the importance of leveraging technology in the healthcare sector. He emphasized innovations such as telemedicine and orthopedic robotics. According to Rudy, technological advancements must be utilized while carefully managing the associated risks, making risk management a key factor in healthcare innovation.

Digitalization of Medical Records as the Foundation of Healthcare Technology
Rudi explained that one of the Ministry of Health’s main programs is the digitalization of medical records. “Previously, medical records were handwritten in books or cards; now they are gradually implemented electronically with support from the Minister of Health,” he said. This transformation not only simplifies patient record-keeping and monitoring but also serves as a primary data source for developing advanced technologies such as AI and biotechnology.

Utilizing AI and Biotechnology in Medical Services
Digital health data collected through electronic medical records has become a crucial foundation for modern medical technologies. According to Rudi, this data enables the development of AI systems that can assist in diagnosis, treatment, and disease prediction. Furthermore, biotechnology can be leveraged for research and development of drugs and targeted therapies, making healthcare services more effective and high-quality.

Robotic Innovations for Indonesia’s Healthcare Future
In addition to AI and biotechnology, the Ministry of Health is also preparing the development of medical robotics, including orthopedic robots. Rudi emphasized that the use of robotics must be supported by proper risk management to ensure these technologies genuinely enhance service quality and patient safety. “The development of robotics is important for positioning Indonesia as an advanced country in healthcare technology and achieving a healthy, self-reliant, and sustainable society,” he explained.

Conclusion
The discussion underscores the Ministry of Health’s commitment to utilizing technological advancements safely and strategically. The digitalization of healthcare services lays the groundwork for AI, biotechnology, and medical robotics, preparing Indonesia to face modern healthcare challenges effectively.
