Jakarta, INTI – Efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s artificial intelligence ecosystem have reached a crucial stage. The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has officially opened a public consultation to finalize the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Roadmap White Paper and the AI Ethics Guidelines Concept. This initiative aims to gather input from various stakeholders to ensure that Indonesia’s AI policies are developed in a comprehensive, inclusive, and accountable manner.
Engaging Hundreds of Stakeholders
The drafting process of the White Paper involves 443 participants from diverse backgrounds, including government officials, academics, industry players, community representatives, and the media. The National AI Roadmap White Paper will act as a foundation for formulating policies and regulations, focusing on AI governance that is safe, sustainable, inclusive, and responsible.
Strengthening the Ethical Aspects of AI
In addition to the Roadmap, Komdigi has also prepared the AI Ethics Guidelines Concept. This document builds upon existing AI ethical policies as outlined in the Minister of Communication and Informatics Circular No. 9 of 2023 on AI Ethics.
