In HealthBench Hard Hallucinations testing, GPT-5 recorded an error rate of just 1.6%, down sharply from GPT-4o’s 12.9%. Alex Beutel, OpenAI’s head of security research, stated that this improvement is not only about safety but also about building trust and transparency between AI and its users.
Available to All ChatGPT Users
For the first time, this advanced reasoning model is available for free to all ChatGPT users. ChatGPT Plus subscribers get higher usage limits, while ChatGPT Pro subscribers gain access to GPT-5 Pro with even stronger reasoning capabilities.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman described GPT-5 as a milestone, saying it “feels like you’re talking directly to a legitimate PhD-level expert.”
