Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia is stepping up efforts to bring its artificial intelligence (AI) services to international markets, following significant transactions involving Indonesian AI services at an exhibition in China.
Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, said Indonesia’s AI industry has growing potential as global demand for AI continues to expand.
AI Services Gain Global Momentum
“AI is becoming increasingly global. We recently participated in an exhibition in China, where we sold AI development services and secured a significant transaction,” Fajarini said during a press conference for Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 in Tangerang on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The transaction at the Chinese exhibition highlights the growing opportunity for Indonesian AI service providers to reach international buyers. According to Fajarini, the development also demonstrates that Indonesia has opportunities to expand its AI-related services beyond the domestic market.
She said the growing global demand for AI could create opportunities for Indonesian businesses to offer their services to customers in various countries. The government is therefore encouraging local AI service providers to explore international markets and strengthen their presence globally.
Government Seeks to Expand International Market Access
To support the expansion, the government plans to encourage more international buyers to visit and explore the capabilities of Indonesian AI service providers.
The initiative is expected to help introduce Indonesia’s AI services to a wider international audience while creating opportunities for local businesses to develop new export markets.
Fajarini emphasized that the growing global adoption of AI presents an opportunity for Indonesia to further develop its AI service sector and expand its participation in the international digital economy.
Conclusion
Indonesia is seeking to expand its AI services beyond the domestic market as global demand for AI continues to grow. The significant transaction achieved at an exhibition in China highlights the potential for Indonesian AI providers to reach international buyers, with government support focused on opening wider global market opportunities.
