Jakarta, INTI - Hasanuddin University, through its Vocational Faculty, strengthened international collaboration with industry players and educational institutions from China in the development of vocational education and artificial intelligence (AI) through the signing of a cooperation agreement held at Novotel Jakarta Pulo Mas on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
The partnership involved Foshan Polytechnic, Guangdong Bangpu Recycling Technology Co., Ltd Indonesia Buri Base, and the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University as part of the implementation of the international 1 + 10 + 100 + 1,000 + 10,000 Project in Jakarta.
Focus on Vocational Education and AI Development
Dean of the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University, Muh Restu, stated that the program focuses on advancing vocational education and strengthening industrial talent through knowledge transfer and the development of technology aligned with global industry needs.
“We want Unhas vocational graduates to be fully prepared to work in global-scale industries. The university’s support for vocational education development gives us strong motivation to continue growing,” said Muh Restu.
He emphasized that international cooperation creates broader opportunities for students and academic communities to enhance their international exposure while expanding collaboration experience with multinational industries.
According to him, strengthening global networks is an important step in improving the quality of vocational education to make it more competitive and adaptive to the rapidly evolving global industrial landscape.
He also expressed optimism that cross-country collaboration could accelerate technology and knowledge transfer for vocational students in Indonesia.
Development of AI-Based Training Centers
Through the program, Indonesia and China are also planning to develop AI-based and cross-border e-commerce training centers across several regions in Indonesia.
The initiative is supported by investments in learning equipment, including computers and digital screens, to strengthen industry-based e-commerce training facilities.
The event was also held alongside the China–Indonesia AI + Cross-Border E-Commerce Localization Training and Industry Exchange Program in Indonesia, which highlighted collaboration between the education sector and international industries.
