Jakarta, INTI - Google reported that the number of monthly active users of its flagship AI chatbot, Gemini, surpassed 750 million by the end of Q4 2025, marking a significant increase from the previous quarter, which recorded around 650 million users.
Gemini Grows Rapidly, ChatGPT Still Leads
This data was revealed in Alphabet’s fourth-quarter financial report, highlighting the accelerating global adoption of AI technologies.
The growth positions Gemini as a major player in the artificial intelligence industry.
However, the top spot is still held by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, with an estimated 810 million monthly active users by the end of 2025.
AI developed by Meta reportedly reached nearly 500 million users in the same period.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the launch of the latest Gemini 3 model was the main driver behind the surge in users.
"The Gemini app has grown to exceed 750 million monthly active users. Search services also recorded all-time high usage, with AI continuing to drive this expansion phase," he said.
Technological Innovation and Financial Drive
Gemini 3, including the lightweight Gemini 3 Flash version, is reported to deliver responses with unprecedented depth and nuance. The model is also integrated natively within the Gemini app.
Pichai added that this rapid growth is supported by sustained investment and aggressive product iteration.
Alphabet recorded annual revenue exceeding $400 billion for the first time, largely driven by its expansion in the AI sector.
To support its AI performance, Google also introduced TPU Ironwood, the next-generation AI accelerator chip designed to compete directly with Nvidia in the AI hardware market.
Currently, Google’s AI models are capable of processing over 10 billion tokens per minute via APIs used by global customers.
The aggressive growth of Gemini demonstrates that Google is strengthening its position in the global AI technology landscape, while also showing that AI adoption continues to expand as a backbone of future digital innovation.
Conclusion
With Gemini 3’s rapid adoption, advanced capabilities, and strong financial backing, Google is solidifying its position in the global AI race, closing the gap with ChatGPT and shaping the future of digital innovation.
