China’s Heimifeng Facility Converts Household Waste into High-Capacity Green Power

12 hours ago | Green Industrial

Jakarta, INTI - The Heimifeng Environmental Industrial Park in Changsha has the capability to convert household waste into green electricity, generating more than 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours annually.

Located in Wangcheng District, the facility stands as one of the largest waste management projects, with a daily processing capacity of up to 10,000 tons of household waste and 1,000 tons of sludge.

Turning Waste into Sustainable Energy

Through an incineration process, the park not only produces electricity but also reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.2 million tons each year.

This approach transforms solid waste into a renewable energy source while offering an effective solution to minimize environmental impact in urban areas.

Environmental Education and Public Engagement

Beyond its role as a waste processing center, Heimifeng also serves as an environmental education hub for communities across Hunan Province.

Since 2021, the facility has welcomed over 40,000 visitors through public open-day programs.

These initiatives aim to raise awareness about waste sorting and promote sustainable waste management practices.

Additionally, the park functions as a center for ecological knowledge dissemination, helping to strengthen public awareness and responsibility toward environmental protection.

Conclusion

The Heimifeng Environmental Industrial Park demonstrates how large-scale waste-to-energy solutions can address both urban waste challenges and clean energy demands. By transforming household waste into renewable electricity while reducing carbon emissions, the project highlights a practical and scalable model for sustainable urban development and environmental awareness.
