Jakarta, INTI - China will utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to create more job opportunities, as the number of this year’s university graduates entering the job market is reaching around 12.7 million.

The government will use AI to enhance traditional roles, tap job opportunities across multiple channels, and help young people demonstrate their skills across various industries, Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Wang Xiaoping said at a press conference during the annual session of the National People's Congress.

China's Plan to Overcome Job Stability Challenges

However, Xiaoping also warned the public that increasing uncertainties and other unpredictable factors could form into new challenges to job stability. Nevertheless, she said that China will establish internship programs and large-scale job training to overcome those challenges.

The government will emphasize improving vocational skills in developing sectors, such as low-altitude economy, new-energy vehicles, and artificial intelligence.

China’s government said that it aims to create more than 12 million job opportunities in 2026 and to keep the average jobless rate under 5.5% between 2026 and 2030.
