China Successfully Launches New Satellite for Space Communication Technology Testing

Jakarta, INTI - China has successfully launched a new satellite designed to test space communication technologies from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province, southern China, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The satellite successfully entered its designated orbit following launch.

Successful Launch Reaches Planned Orbit

The satellite was launched at 10:10 a.m. Beijing time (09:10 WIB) aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket.

According to Xinhua, the mission proceeded smoothly, and the satellite was successfully deployed into its planned orbit as scheduled.

The launch took place at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, one of China's primary facilities for space missions and satellite deployments.

Supporting Communications and Technology Validation

The newly launched satellite is expected to support a range of services, including satellite communications, broadcasting, television transmission, and data transfer.

In addition to providing communication capabilities, the satellite will be used to conduct in-orbit validation and testing of advanced space communication technologies.

The mission also marked the 653rd flight of China's Long March rocket family, underscoring the country's continued progress in space transportation and satellite deployment.
