Jakarta, INTI - Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) model capable of generating videos for game development. The AI model also can produce videos that simulate the real world.
This move is part of Alibaba's expansion strategy to compete with Tencent Holdings Ltd. and to boost the monetization of its AI technology. Alibaba introduced a new tool called Happy Oyster, which can generate three-dimensional (3D) and interactive videos. This technology is designed to support film production, video content, and game development.
According to the company’s official statement, Happy Oyster is an open-ended AI model with a multimodal architecture. One of its features is "Directing", which allows users to control the game in real time like a game developer.
New Models and Organization Restructure
The company is targeting revenue growth of US$100 billion (approximately Rp1,710 trillion) within the next five years. To achieve this target, Alibaba is aggressively releasing various new models and restructuring its organization to accelerate the commercialization of its products.
Launched on Thursday, this latest AI model was developed by Alibaba Token Hub, a new business unit established by the company. The company said that currently, Happy Oyster is still available in limited early access.
Last week, Alibaba also introduced a video-making model called Happy Horse, which attracted attention in China's AI industry due to its claim to be the top-ranked platform globally upon its initial release.
