9 months ago | Startups & Digital Talent

Jakarta, INTI – Telkom Indonesia has officially launched a national-level competition to generate innovative ideas based on artificial intelligence (AI). This competition provides a platform for young Indonesians to collaborate on creating digital solutions that can support various sectors, including education, healthcare, and expanding technology access in remote areas. Hundreds of university students from across Indonesia are participating in this competition. They will compete through stages starting from idea selection, mentorship from expert advisors, to presenting their final results in the finals.

Commitment to Digital Innovation

This competition aims to build an open, collaborative, and sustainable digital innovation ecosystem. The program is designed to encourage young innovators who are not only technically proficient but also socially conscious.

Competition Mechanism and Schedule

Participants are university students from various campuses across Indonesia. From a target of 250 submitted ideas, 50 teams will be selected for the semifinals, which will then be narrowed down to 10 finalist teams. The Final Round will be held from October 6–17, 2025, with direct guidance from Telkom Group experts and strategic partners. The culmination will be on October 19, 2025, when finalists will present their solutions in the form of minimum viable products (MVPs) on Awarding Day.

Focus on Strategic Issues

Participants are encouraged to propose AI solutions with real societal impact. Focus areas include adaptive inclusive education, predictive digital healthcare access, data intelligence-based social decision-making, and efforts to expand digital inclusion in remote regions.

Role of Organizers and Official Statement

According to Iwan Setiawan, VP of HC Culture & Industrial Relations at Telkom, this competition serves as a platform for Indonesia’s digital talent to actively create technology solutions addressing social challenges. He hopes the program will be the starting point for producing new innovators who are not only technically excellent but also capable of making a tangible contribution to national progress.

Conclusion

This competition demonstrates the company’s commitment in Indonesia to nurturing a generation of creative and socially responsible digital talent. Under the theme “AI for Good”, participants are challenged not only to enhance their technical skills but also to develop solutions beneficial to society. Moving forward, the MVP presentations by the finalists should be continuously monitored, encouraged to collaborate with Telkom for real-world implementation, and expanded in reach so that the benefits of “AI for Good” can be experienced by a broader population.
