Jakarta, INTI - PT PLN (Persero) has completed a series of electricity infrastructure projects for Microsoft's data centers in the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) area, Deltamas City, Cikarang, and Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC), West Java.
Through PLN's Central Java Development Unit (UIP JBT) and PLN's Project Management Center (Pusmanpro), the company successfully built and operated the 150 kilovolt (kV) Data Center Bay Microsoft Line JKT 11 A & B substation in the GIIC area, Cikarang.
Furthermore, construction of the 150 kV KIIC II/Margakarya Line JKT 09 and JKT 02 substations, which will supply the electricity needs of PT Microsoft Operation Indonesia in the KIIC area, has also been completed.
Growth for Indonesia’s Economy
Microsoft's Energy Asia Pacific Regional Lead, Leo Wirawan, emphasized that a reliable and sustainable electricity supply is crucial for global data center operations.

PLN's Director of Project Management and New and Renewable Energy, Suroso Isnandar, stated that this project is a strategic step to strengthen Indonesia's role as a center for digital economic growth in the region.
"PLN views the development of the data center ecosystem as a crucial pillar in national economic transformation. Therefore, we are preparing electricity infrastructure that is not only reliable but also adaptive to the needs of the ever-growing digital industry," Suroso said.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of PLN UIP JBT, Kishartanto Purnomo Putro, emphasized that meeting national electricity needs is PLN's responsibility across all sectors, including the rapidly growing digital industry.
"24-hour electricity reliability is not just a necessity, but the main foundation for world-class data center operations. PLN is ready to provide a stable, secure, and sustainable electricity supply to support continuous digital activities," Kishartanto said.
