Jakarta, INTI - Nvidia has reportedly invested approximately US$40 billion in various artificial intelligence-related projects through early 2026. According to a TechCrunch report, this move solidifies Nvidia's position as a major investor in the development of the global AI ecosystem.

CNBC reported that the majority of the funds were allocated to OpenAI, with an investment value reaching US$30 billion. In addition to the AI sector, Nvidia also invested in other areas, including up to US$3.2 billion in glass company Corning and approximately US$2.1 billion in data center operator IREN.

Nvidia also Invested in Startups

Nvidia's investment in the AI sector continues to increase, with the company recording 67 AI-related business deals in 2025. According to FactSet data, Nvidia was also involved in approximately two dozen private startup funding rounds throughout 2026.

However, Nvidia's investment strategy has drawn criticism, as the company is seen investing heavily in its own customers, creating a circular investment pattern. Wedbush Securities analyst Matthew Bryson stated that this pattern reflects the practice of circulating funds between companies. However, if these schemes are successful, Nvidia can help companies build sustainable competition.
