Jakarta, INTI - Meta has reportedly begun testing its newest premium subscription service, called Instagram Plus. Previously, in January, Meta announced that it intends to introduce paid features across its app ecosystem, including Facebook and WhatsApp.
According to TechCrunch, the Instagram Plus trial has already appeared in several countries, including Japan, Mexico, and the Philippines.
The features offered mostly focus on improving the Instagram Stories experience. One of the most interesting and perhaps most anticipated features is the ability to view other people's Stories anonymously.
Subscribers Can Extend IG Story Live Duration
Instagram Plus subscribers can also see how many times their Stories have been rewatched by the same person, and extend the Story's live duration to 48 hours. There's also a Superlike feature and the ability to spotlight a Story once a week to increase visibility.
Another feature is unlimited audience list. This is an extension of the existing Close Friends feature, allowing users more flexibility in grouping who can see certain posts. Additionally, subscribers can search for specific names within their Story viewers.
There's no definite information yet on when this feature will be available to users in Indonesia.
Conclusion
Meta Platforms is reportedly testing Instagram Plus subscription service in several countries, including Japan, Mexico, and the Philippines. It offers additional features, primarily for Instagram Stories, such as anonymous Story viewing, re-viewing, extended story durations up to 48 hours, and more flexible audience settings. A global rollout has not yet been announced.
