Jakarta, INTI – The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has announced preparations for the 2025 Eid homecoming season. One of the initiatives includes discounted data packages of up to 50%.
Discount Policy for Eid Homecoming Data Packages
"After holding approximately three meetings with all mobile operators, the government and mobile operators have agreed to support the public by offering cheaper data package rates, with discounts of up to 50%," said Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, in a recent press statement.
She explained that several packages were launched in early March, with an active period of up to 30 days, meaning they will still be valid during Eid.
Additionally, Komdigi has prepared a task force to monitor telecommunications networks throughout the homecoming period. Several monitoring posts will also be set up at key locations, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Merak Port, rest areas at KM 57 and KM 63, Gambir Station in Jakarta, and Tawang Station in Semarang.
Meutya assured that service quality will be a top priority during the Eid homecoming period. Operators have been instructed to maintain uninterrupted service throughout this time.
"Komdigi, together with mobile operators, will establish a task force and monitoring posts operating 24/7 at at least 35 technical units nationwide to monitor the radio frequency spectrum," Meutya added.
Communication plays a crucial role during the homecoming season, ensuring both smooth and secure travel. Meutya also reported that mobile service traffic is expected to increase by an average of 20% compared to daily usage.

Telkomsel’s Sales Director, Adiwahyuni Basuki Sigit, stated that the company has introduced numerous programs for Ramadan. These packages remain active for 30 days after purchase, allowing users to continue using them even after Ramadan ends.
She also assured that Telkomsel has taken measures to handle the expected surge in data traffic during the homecoming period, especially at Points of Interest (POI), while also preparing backups in case of unforeseen incidents.

Indosat
Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Reski Damayanti, explained that Indosat offers a variety of affordable data packages for both prepaid and postpaid customers.
Reski further mentioned that Indosat has optimized its network at POI locations and enhanced its infrastructure by upgrading and constructing new BTS (Base Transceiver Stations) to ensure seamless connectivity during the homecoming season.

XL Axiata
XL Axiata has also strengthened its network coverage in crowded areas and conducted direct inspections along routes expected to be heavily used by travelers.
Yessie added that XL Axiata offers special discounts of up to 50% on certain data packages, along with exclusive price reductions for new customers subscribing to XL’s home broadband service.

Smartfren’s CEO, Merza Fachys, announced the company’s “Large Quota for Smooth Worship” program, recognizing that homecoming travelers will require greater data allowances.
To support this, Smartfren has taken various measures, including increasing network capacity and deploying additional resources at high-traffic locations.
