Jakarta, INTI – In response to the growing challenges of climate change, LG Electronics, a leading electronics manufacturer from South Korea, has partnered with Saudi Arabia to develop advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions tailored for regions with extreme temperatures. This joint effort focuses particularly on the Middle East, where scorching heat waves are increasingly common.
According to a report by Yonhap on Sunday (July 6), the collaboration includes a research partnership between LG Electronics, Shaker Group a major Saudi home appliance company and researchers from King Saud University in Riyadh and Pusan National University in Busan, South Korea.
Focused on Efficiency and Durability in High Temperatures The project aims to create HVAC systems that remain reliable and energy-efficient even under extremely hot conditions. LG will supply residential and commercial air conditioning units for Saudi Arabia, which will be installed and operated by Shaker Group.
Additionally, the HVAC systems developed will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This AI integration will allow the systems to automatically adjust their settings based on ambient temperature, thereby improving energy efficiency and user comfort.
A Strategic Move Toward Global HVAC Innovation
An LG Electronics representative stated that the collaboration is part of the company’s long-term strategy to strengthen its technological capabilities in the global HVAC market, especially in regions with harsh climates.
“This collaboration is an opportunity for us to further enhance our ability to deliver HVAC solutions specifically designed for extremely hot regions,” said the LG official.
LG also reaffirmed its commitment to building a systematic research and development infrastructure tailored to different climate zones around the world.
Toward Climate-Friendly and AI-Driven Solutions
As the global demand for cooling systems rises due to the climate crisis, AI-powered HVAC innovations are becoming increasingly vital. These technologies not only promise greater comfort but also support more sustainable energy consumption.
Through cross-national and institutional cooperation, this project is a clear example of how international collaboration can lead to adaptive and sustainable technological solutions, especially in the face of mounting environmental challenges.
Conclusion:
The collaboration between LG Electronics and Saudi Arabia to develop AI-based HVAC systems for high-temperature regions is a strategic move in addressing the challenges of climate change. By partnering with local companies like Shaker Group and academic institutions from both countries, this project not only aims to create energy-efficient and heat-resistant cooling solutions but also to strengthen LG’s position in the global HVAC market. This innovation reflects how intelligent technology can contribute to sustainable, eco-friendly solutions especially in regions affected by extreme heat.
