Downtime Emerges as an Operational Threat, Driving Industries Toward Hybrid Cloud Solutions

4 hours ago | Data Center & Cloud Computing

Jakarta, INTI - System outages and unplanned downtime remain major challenges for industries that rely heavily on digital technologies, disrupting operations, reducing productivity, and causing significant financial losses. To strengthen IT resilience, many organizations are increasingly turning to hybrid cloud solutions.

Downtime Carries Significant Financial Risks

Hari Syah Agam, VP of Marketing at Biznet Gio, said downtime has evolved beyond an IT issue, becoming a critical business continuity concern.

"In today's business environment, where operations are increasingly dependent on digital systems, downtime no longer impacts only IT infrastructure, it also threatens overall business operations," he said.

Hari noted that the rapid shift toward smart manufacturing has made companies more reliant on digital platforms to support production and day-to-day operations.

According to The True Cost of Downtime 2024 report, large manufacturing facilities can incur losses of up to US$253 million annually due to unplanned downtime.

These losses include production interruptions, lost revenue, labor costs, emergency repairs, and delays in fulfilling customer orders.

Hybrid Cloud Strengthens Infrastructure Resilience

Hari explained that hybrid cloud adoption is accelerating as organizations seek to build more resilient IT environments while reducing dependence on a single infrastructure platform.

The Flexera 2026 State of the Cloud Report found that 73% of organizations have already adopted hybrid cloud strategies.

To address these needs, Biznet Gio, in collaboration with Rainer Server from Indo Mega Vision, introduced GIO Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, a solution that integrates cloud and on-premises environments to support business continuity and disaster recovery.

"GIO Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure enables companies to build redundancy layers, ensuring business operations are not dependent on a single infrastructure environment," Hari explained.

Meanwhile, Sugiyanto Sutikno, Managing Director of Indo Mega Vision, said the partnership combines the reliability of on-premises systems with the scalability of cloud technology.

"Through the collaboration between Rainer Server and Biznet Gio, we deliver a Hybrid Cloud solution that combines the reliability of on-premises infrastructure with cloud scalability, helping organizations improve operational resilience while maximizing IT investment efficiency," he said.

Conclusion

As businesses become increasingly dependent on digital operations, minimizing downtime has become a strategic priority. The growing adoption of hybrid cloud reflects the need for more resilient, flexible, and scalable IT infrastructure that supports business continuity, disaster recovery, and long-term operational efficiency.
