Jakarta, INTI - China's humanoid robot production is expected to exceed 100,000 units by 2026.
This target was announced by Gan Xiaobin, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as reported by Xinhua on July 7.
Gan made the remarks at a press conference for the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026.
AI Development is Rapid in China
He noted that China's rapidly developing AI applications and ecosystem are driving the robot industry. The penetration rate of AI applications among China's industrial enterprises has surpassed 30 percent.
Gan also added that the National AI Industry Investment Fund is stepping up operations to channel more capital into the sector.
