BRIN and Kemdiktisaintek Prepare Research Roadmap that will Serve as a Guide for Industrialization and Tech Strategies

1 hour ago | Industrial Transformation

Jakarta, INTI - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), together with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), is developing a national research roadmap that will serve as a reference for Indonesian research development until 2045. The document is expected to guide national research and serve as a guide for long-term industrialization strategies.

The Head of BRIN, Arif Satria, stated that BRIN continues to collaborate with Kemdiktisaintek to prepare quality research that can support the national development agenda.

"BRIN always works together with Kemdiktisaintek," said Arif on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Launching in Surabaya Soon

According to Arif, the research roadmap is planned to be launched in Surabaya soon. The document will serve as a reference for all stakeholders in implementing the national research agenda.

"This research roadmap, which will be launched in Surabaya, will serve as a reference for Indonesian research until 2045," he said.

He explained that the development of the research roadmap is aimed at ensuring that all strategic research in Indonesia is carried out in a single, integrated manner. According to Arif, the existence of this roadmap is important so that researchers have clear guidance regarding future national research priorities.

"The collaboration between Kemdiktisaintek and BRIN is a good step, so that strategic research conducted by researchers in Indonesia can refer to the direction we have established," he said.

Future National Tech Development

Furthermore, Arif explained that the research roadmap not only serves as a guide for research activities but also provides projections of future technological developments.

Thus, the future direction of Indonesian industrialization can be formulated based on data and projections of technological development, rather than solely based on conventional considerations.

"This research direction can also provide insight into future technologies that will be developed, thus guiding the direction of our future industrialization," he said.

He added that a technology projection-based approach is crucial for national industry to remain relevant and able to withstand increasingly rapid global change.

"Our future industrialization will not be based solely on common sense, but on data on emerging technological projections, ensuring our industry will survive and be relevant to current needs," said Arif.

Conclusion

BRIN and Kemdiktisaintek are currently developing a national research roadmap until 2045, which will serve as a reference for research development and the direction of Indonesia's industrialization. Head of BRIN Arif Satria stated that the document is prepared to ensure that all national strategic research is integrated and aligned with the national development agenda. The roadmap, which will be launched in Surabaya, is expected to guide researchers in determining research priorities and provide projections of future technological developments.
