Jakarta, INTI - The Ministry of Industry has shown a strong commitment to implementing strategic policies aimed at boosting the performance of the national manufacturing sector. These policies are in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s ambitious target to drive national economic growth to reach 7-8 percent.
Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, emphasized that his Ministry will work according to the President's directions, focusing on development that has a direct impact on public welfare. "We are going full throttle. According to the President’s instructions, specifically for the manufacturing sector, there must be a direct correlation between the growth of each industry and the welfare of the people," said Agus at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/22).
Strengthening RIPIN 2025-2045 for Priority Industries
The Ministry of Industry will adhere to the National Industrial Development Master Plan (RIPIN) 2025-2045, which targets the development of 10 priority industries. According to Agus, the manufacturing sector continues to contribute significantly to the national economy. Therefore, the existing roadmap will be strengthened over the next two or three years.
Deputy Minister of Industry, Faisol Riza, supported this view, likening the manufacturing industry to the "heart" of the economy that needs to be strengthened. "The industry is like the heart that pumps blood, providing oxygen throughout the body," he explained.
Commitment to Downstreaming Programs
Minister Agus also stressed that the Ministry remains committed to implementing downstreaming programs aimed at increasing the added value of national commodities. “Downstreaming is not only focused on a few commodities but will also cover all that can create added value, which in turn will create employment opportunities,” he explained.
Building Industry Based on Abundant Natural Resources
National industrial development will be driven to deepen the structure from upstream to downstream, and to utilize the abundant natural resources in Indonesia. “As a country with abundant natural resources and a large domestic market, Indonesia always has great potential to become an advanced industrial nation,” Agus said with high optimism.
Synergy with Various Parties for Manufacturing Success
To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Industry will collaborate with stakeholders, including supply chain strengthening, human resource development, financing facilitation, as well as research and technology development. With a solid strategy, it is hoped that the manufacturing sector will become a robust backbone of the national economy and successfully achieve inclusive, productive, and sustainable economic growth.
