Jakarta, INTI - The DIALS 2024 Declaration delivered by Zulfadly Syam, Secretary General of the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), marks a new chapter in Indonesia's journey towards inclusive digital transformation. This declaration is the result of discussions involving various stakeholders, reflecting a shared commitment to accelerating the realization of Indonesia's Digital Vision 2045.
Developing Inclusive Digital Infrastructure
One of the key points in this declaration is the focus on developing backbone and last-mile infrastructure. This infrastructure is seen as the key to ensuring that all regions of Indonesia, including remote areas, have equal access to digital technology. Zulfadly Syam emphasized the importance of adopting alternative technologies such as satellites and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) as part of the strategy to achieve wider connectivity.
Strong regulatory support from the government is crucial in realizing this vision. Harmonization of policies between the central and regional governments must be carried out to ensure that infrastructure development is not hindered by overlapping regulations.
Cybersecurity: Challenges and Opportunities
The DIALS 2024 Declaration also stresses the importance of developing a national strategy for cybersecurity. The increasingly complex cyber threats require strong cross-sector coordination to build national cybersecurity resilience. Zulfadly Syam highlighted the need for innovation in the cloud and hosting industries to address these threats, as well as the need for consistent and effective cybersecurity policies across all sectors.
The development of local cybersecurity solutions is a main focus for APJII in strengthening Indonesia's digital sovereignty. This is also a strategic step to reduce reliance on imported products and strengthen Indonesia's position in the global market.
Encouraging the Use of Local Products in Telecommunications Infrastructure
To support the growth of the domestic industry, the Domestic Product Utilization Enhancement Policy (P3DN) is being encouraged by APJII for implementation by its members. Zulfadly Syam emphasized that collaboration between industry, government, and academia is essential to ensure that local products not only meet technical standards but are also prioritized in the procurement of large projects.
Collaboration to Realize Indonesia's Digital Vision 2045
The DIALS 2024 Declaration reaffirms that synergy and collaboration between the government, industry, and society are key to realizing Indonesia's Digital Vision 2045. Inclusive and sustainable digital transformation requires close cooperation from all stakeholders. Zulfadly Syam calls on all parties to remain committed and work hard towards achieving a more connected, secure, and competitive Indonesia in the global digital era.
