Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia takes the helm as the host of the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) workshop by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The Global DTC Workshop will take place from May 14 to 16, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia.
Hary Budiarto, Head of Human Resources Development Agency at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, stated that the workshop aims to explore new ideas to develop training initiatives to accelerate global digital literacy.
"At the focal point, representatives from all Digital Transformation Centers will discuss the implementation of digital literacy initiatives and the democratization of digitalization on a global scale," he expressed in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, on Monday (13/05/2024).
In addition to addressing current global trends in digital skills and digital transformation, according to Hary Budiarto, the workshop will also discuss efforts to enhance digital literacy to bridge the global digital divide.
"The workshop will also discuss various developments and progress achieved in the agreed action areas at previous DTC meetings and present the main objectives of the workshop," he stated.
The Head of HRD at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology stated that the workshop is attended by delegates from the Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Americas, and the Arab regions. He attributed Indonesia's selection as the host country to its diverse advancements in national digital literacy.
"Indonesia's significant progress in advancing the implementation of these initiative goals contributes to the selection of Indonesia as the host of this event," he said.
Specifically, Hary Budiarto highlighted the presence of Indonesia's Digital Vision 2045 as a supporter of accelerating national digital transformation. He hopes that Indonesia's initiatives will accelerate global digital literacy.
"Indonesia's Digital Vision 2045 provides a vision, mission, goals, and strategies for digital development to realize Indonesia Emas 2045. Thus, the utilization of digital technology can bring about leaps of progress for Indonesia to become one of the top 10 strongest economies by 2045," he explained.
The DTC Workshop is a collaboration between the Information and Communication Technology Training and Development Center (BPPTIK) of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, ITU, Cisco, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.
